Bonhoeffer Speaks out – bible in one hand, blog in the other

Bonhoeffer Speaks Out Against Hitler

Friends. I’m quick to quote a inspirational quote or fun expression. But the truth is that in worship we mus stay focused both in the scripture and also in the current context we live in. Today I share with you a vid on Bonhoeffer where he becomes the first to publicly critiize Hitler. A fellow scorned german, Karl Barth, did believe that true theology can only be done with the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other. To update that line of thinking, let me say that current theology can only be done right through a connection with the newswires, talkradio, and local news in one hand.. and our daily devotion in the bible in the other. This is basically what Barth was saying.. BE RELEAVENT!!!! ACT RELEAVENT!!!! and STUDY THE WORD!!!! I share this all to say I want to share a quote from Hitler today as a warning against complacency, in-action, and the mind-set of true biblical studying while believeing always that someone else will act. Remember with this quote there is a cost to your in-action that is as valuable to someone as your action is to you and others. Hitler was noted with this quote to verbalize this belief ofen when he said: “How fortunate for us leaders that men do not think” — Adolf Hitler
